What is Spiritual Wellness?
Spiritual wellness is being connected to something greater than yourself and having a set of values, principles, morals and beliefs that provide a sense of purpose and meaning to life, then using those principles to guide your actions.
Spiritual wellness is not:
Being a deeply religious person.
Going to a worship place on a regular basis.
Forcing a set belief system on self and expecting others to follow.
Living life according to rigid rules and cultural norms.
Doing what you want to do, and not caring for what others think because your way and belief system is the right way to live.
Is not a one fit for all approach to life.
Spiritual wellness is:
Having a relationship with yourself, your heart, and your soul (essence of your being and life purpose).
Having a relationship with people around you and, and relating to your environment and culture.
Experiencing life according to your life purpose and values.
Committing to your life purpose, values, and faith. Surrendering to “what is” (anything that is here in the present moment).
Wellness is made up of several different dimensions including physical, emotional, social and even spiritual wellness. Unfortunately, spiritual wellness is most commonly the first facet to get pushed to the back burner when people are trying to improve their overall health and well-being. This is ironic because without a connection with your spirituality, every other aspect of your wellness cannot and will not reach its full potential. Spiritual wellness is the backbone of wellness because it affects all of the other components of your well-being.
You see, spiritual wellness encompasses everything from our daily disciplines to finding our true purpose in life. It is the values and beliefs in which we live by. Implementing realistic standards and boundaries based on our beliefs and values is crucial because without them it is next to impossible to find your calling and reach your full potential. Moreover, spirituality is necessary in order to attain fulfillment.
Additionally, being spiritually healthy is the only way to live with genuine JOY.
What is a Spiritual Coach?
A spiritual coach, also called a spiritual life coach, explores the deeper connections between people and the Universe. They help others gain a new or deeper understanding of the world they live in and the energies that flow within it. Through their work, a spiritual coach will use various healing tools to support their clients’ journeys. They act as a guide to unleashing self-trust and compassion in another person.
People choose to work with spiritual coaches for many reasons. Some of the primary areas in which spiritual coaches often work with clients include:
